Default Multiple A#s and Multiple 485s anyone?

Hi.

Is there anyone here with multiple 485s filed (one as primary, one as dependant), and who might have got two A#s as a result of doing so?

If yes, did you get fingerprinted for both apps?

Thanks.

Yes we are in the same situation. We got the FP done on both the set of applications. Also had our attorney send out a memo to USCIS requesting them to link both set of applications. Did notice a soft LUD on the applcations after the memo was to sent to USCIS

Thanks for the response.

The first time we got FP notices for the second set of 485s, the folks at the uscis office refused to take our FPs, arguing that we couldn't have 2 A#s.

Nowhere in USCIS rules does it say that one cannot have 2A#s.
Anyway, now we have got FP notices for the second set yet again, so i'm hoping they take it this time around.

I had only approved I-I40 (2/06), filed I-485 (7/07) and had FP in 9/07, had approved EAD. All these had SAME A#. Filed for renewal/extention of EAD (5/08) the renewed EAD (9/08) had a Different A#(2nd).

Yesterday I received FP notice which had 2nd A# (one showed up in renewed EAD). Just wondering if this 2nd FP notice is because of 2nd A# or because of Expired FP (done in sept 07). What should I do? Please, share your thoughts? Any one in similar situition? My FP is on 7/6

In your app to renew your EAD, did you reference the first A# you received?

If you did, then your renewed EAD should have had that A# on it instead of a new one.

I can't understand why uscis would issue 2 A#s when you only have one 485/140 app filed.

Yes, i did fill in A# I had on ead application. This 2nd FP is for I-485. btw, Do you think I ask for consolidation of A#s when i go for FP or leave it to that to avoid any messing up?

No idea how consolidation works.

I myself am trying to figure that out.

Default multiple a#

I had multiple A# with multiple 485's. When I applied for the new 485, I included the old A# with the application. I was fingerprinted for each 485 application i had submitted.

The problem with my case was that both 485 apps were filed within days of each other during the jul/aug 2007 fiasco.

So i didn't have the A# from the first filing to use in the second one.

oh.. well. i guess i'm twice as alien to this country as others

Default 2FPs in two weeks for two 485s but same A#

I dont know if this helps your case, but i got 2 FPs within two weeks of each other this month for my 2 485s ( one primary and one dependent). I have the same A#. I had no issues during the FP appointment.

How do we know or ensure that the app with the earlier priority date is the one they use for approval ?
