Default German Visa in New York

Hi

Has anyone applied for a visa in Germany recently? I am from the Philadelphia area and hence would have to contact the NYC consulate for the same. Do you have to go in person if you are a citizen of India? If not, what ORIGINAL documents do you have to send in? Does it make a difference if you have a green card or not?

Any information on this will be helpful.

Thanks.

I have already DONE all that, but thanks for the sarcasm, it made my day.

I was wondering if anyone had any PERSONAL experiences on here to share.

Awesome - since I've already made your day.Assuming you're applying for a tourist visa,
this link should ACTUALLY GIVE you all the information you need:

German Missions in the United States - Tourist

It clearly states what documents you need to provide and EVERYONE except in rare circumstances has to go personally (this is true for all Schengen Countries, I got a schengen visa to enter France in Boston).

"Except for rare instances, you have to submit your application in person."

Good luck!!
