Default H-4 extension with different Approval date-Help!

I and my wife both applied for H-1 and H-4 visa extension. H-1B got approved for 3 years based on I-140 approval. H-4 got extended to only one year.

Q) Is there any rule, which states that H-4 will be extended only for a year after 6 years?
Q)Can I ( Rather my wife) can apply for amendment to original Petition for 3 more years ?

Your wife passport expires after one year or after four years?. if it is after four years you can call them and ask they will give you proper answer.

As far as I know, there is no such rule. We applied for our H1 and H4 based on I-140 and both got 3 year extensions.

BTW, did you send her H4 docs along with your H1 extension paperwork or was it filed separately? If its latter, then there is a chance that they might've overlooked your I-140 approval. Also check with your lawyer.

Good Luck.
