Default GC Story with an Happy ending

Like the other guy who mentioned,I came to USA in 1996 and went to grad school.Started working for a company and got laid off in 2001(GC stopped).GC process started again with another company with PD of AUG 2004 EB2.Filed my I-485 in the July 2007.
On Sep 9th,received a Welcome letter.I also received approval emails from CRIS for me and my wife.

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

Thanks to IV for all the support and guidance.I contributed in the past and particpated in the "flower campiagn".I will continue to support(and contribute) IV efforts in bringing in much needed visa reforms.

If you had Finger Prints taken digitally these can be renewed electronically. I had my first and only FP done in Nov 2007 and during the INFOPASS the IO told me that my FP was renewed in Mar 2009 electronically and no need for second FP. However she did find that my Biometrics data was not uploaded and she got it fixed however i was approved without the bio data upload. Per IO and TSC fingerprints and Bio data is not required for approval however is required before you get your card. I was told by TSC that case is approved but card will only be ordered once Bio is uploaded which they got done yesterday.

Default Now 249

I think it's close to 250 now. Looks like about half the people (from 2004)who are current now have got their approval emails.I can see only about 280 pending cases(2004 only)

A quick recap:
- Entered in fall 94 on F1 for MS
- Worked 96-97 on EAD
- Worked 97-99 on H1. Company started labor, but deliberately dragged their feet
- Back to full time school for MBA on F1 in 99 (rejected for transfer from H1 to F1 in Canada, approved with no questions in Chennai)
- Worked on H1 from 01-03 on H1. Company was laying people off throughout my tenure. No chance to apply for GC
- Changed jobs on H1 in 04 with 16 months left in 6 year limit
- Applied for LC with 5 days left to the 365 day limit
- Got stuck in BEC
- Labor approved in May 06
- 140 approved in 6 days in June 06
- Applied for 485 in July 07
- Application shuttled to CSC and back to NSC
- Renewed H1 to get a 3 year approval. Did not get a new H1 stamp after 05
- Fingerprinting in Feb 08 and again in May 09
- 3 APs and EADs (07, 08, 09)
- Was current a couple of times only to see people with PDs ~2 years later get approved
- CPO email on 9/1, approval notice received on 9/5
- Cards received on 9/8

-a
long journey - I hope you realize that you have finally reached your destination...time to take a good sleep now and pursue your dream later. good luck!

Default My 485 case status changed to "Welcome letter sent "

Today I got the case status changed online with "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident"

It took 10 years for completing this Journey.

No interviews or RFEs. Did once AC-21.
I substituted EB3 priority date to EB2 and got the 485 cleared. The substitution request was sent while filing 485 application.

Receipt date of 485 - 10th Aug 2007.
EB2 priority - Feb 1st 2006.
Eb3 priority - September 23, 2004.

So the substitution of porting the priority date from EB3 to EB2 worked in my case.

This forum is very much useful and great. !!!!!

Default Received approval notices

Just got an email from my lawyer that they have received the approval notices.

The notice says " Welcome to the United States of America. It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to permanent resident status in the United States."

Cool!
