yes I did. These folks dont realize the fact that 99.9999% of the production is now outside the us, possibly china and they dont even have to come here to the US to work. those economies are booming. All that remains here is the service sector and if they want that also to go out?? then who can you blame for that stupidity. All the US companies are trying to do is to somehow maintain their operations inside the US and be viable. I have been here for almost 8 years now and until now I have not encountered a single employer who would hire a foriegner unless an american is not available. Now regarding small software firms, first of all they cant pay much and make profit, so they look for folks with skill who can work for less. Its not a sin, thats how the economy has worked since its inception, since the days when africans were used to build the railroads and farm.

H1b cap increase may be done this year as Bill Gates is lobbying this year as usual. But will it resolve the issue of Microsoft? Even with 130k H1b Microsoft may not get H1b in case of lottery system. Lottery system need to be removed in H1b. In this system 100k Microsoft job(with Ms or Phd) cannot get a H1b but 45k(With Bsc,Bcom) salary Indian consulting company consultant(who will come to USA after 1 year after getting H1b) can get it.
Infact the statement of Bill Gates is 1 h1b job is creating 4 or 5 new jobs. That is correct statement. But that is not true in the consulting companies which are doing outsourcing. Skills and salary should be factor in getting H1b rather than lottery.
