Default Can B1 visa holder enter US for tourism, like a B2 visa holder?

Hi,

For the upcoming vacation, I would like to invite both my mom and sisster-in-law
to the US. My mom has a B2 visa sponsored by me and my sister-in-law has a B1 visa
sponsored by her employer.
In my sister-in-laws' visa, there is no annotation.

My sister-in-law doesn't have a letter of invitation from her client. This is
her personal trip, not tied to work/business. Can she legally enter into US based on the invitation letter that I am willing to send?

I am sure that my invitation works for my mom, but I am not really sure if my
invitation works for my sister-in-law.

Did anyone undergo this situation?

Kindly suggest.

thanks a lot

It seems that B1 is usually issued along with B2. Are you sure that your sister-in-law does not have a B2 visa?

Hi, thanks for your response.

I confirmed with my sis-in-law, and you are correct. Her visa says B1/B2.

Does this mean that she can enter US on tourism purpose also?

Appreciate if you could confirm.

Regards

Yes, that is the purpose of the B2 visa. In other words, she does have B2 visa. So whatever works for your mother (who has B2 visa) will also work for her.

Hi raysaikat, thank you very much for quick response.

Your explanation is very helpful. My sister-in-law can enter four tourism purpose. I will send out invitation letters.
