Default Received Stimulus package

Hi All

I have received the stimulus package from IRS yesterday.

All the hue and cry about IRS not giving refunds to H1's is b*** s***.

With due respect, and for heaven sake stop the ranting and venting out frustration needlessly which I see is been going on some other thread regarding stimulus package.

Lets not heed to rumours and cause everyone else to worry at the same time.

Please follow the IRS schedule based on the last 2 digits of ur SSN and the refund should be yours.

Just my 2 cents...

If your spouse has an ITIN and you filed jointly, nobody will get the payment. Both spouses must have SSNs for anyone in the family to receive payment.

Default Not sure I agree

Not sure I agree with you people are ranting and venting their frustration. Not everyone was able (lucky) to file for 485 during last VB fiasco. Some were stuck at BEC, some were stuck at Atlanta PERM, and some were stuck traveling internationally and not able to get back on time to file I-485. I'm glad you got your refund and many others are getting refund. But some people are feeling left out simply because their spouses are on H4 and don't have SSN.

Yeah...that sucks. As far as I remember, back in 2001, refunds were available to everyone who filed taxes.

No reason to do it differently this time.

Me Too. US system needs to be appreciated. In India it took me 2 yrs to get my Tax refund of Rs 5000 that too after the bribe of Rs 400.

in short these are the following I could think of....
1. have an SSN no and file for the 2007 tax year
2. have ssn nos for both yourself and your spouse if you are filing jointly
3. an income of less that 75k if taxes filed on your own
4. an income of less than 150k if taxes filed jointly
