Post Significance of Priority Date after filing 485?

Friends,

1. On what order USCIS would pick applications to adjudicate. Do they consider Priority Dates or receipt dates or just random pick?

2.Does an application with PD of 2003 has any priority over an application with PD of 2007

2. Does priority date hold any significance, once we apply 485?

Replies appreciated.

Default Yes PD is always followed

1. On what order USCIS would pick applications to adjudicate. Do they consider Priority Dates or receipt dates or just random pick?
-- I think right now the receipt dates is generated FIFO order, once generated ,fingerprint,FBI check will go on, after their clearance, they should process further only if PD is current.( PD is need for both "applying 485" , a starting step and "granting GC" , a final step.)
2.Does an application with PD of 2003 has any priority over an application with PD of 2007
if PD is current then logically there is no priority order. if i am correct, thats the reason the VisaNumbers release was changed from annual to quarterly basis to avoid cases with newer PD eating visanumbers than cases with older PDs.
2. Does priority date hold any significance, once we apply 485?
same answer for question 1.

My PD is May 2007. I'll also be applying for 485 now. I'll get the receipt notice as per the order, but my application would be processed when my PD is again current after a while ?? Even though a person with PD July 2005 and I apply at the same time, his 485 would be picked first for processing.

This is what I understand. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

- YES.

- We know, Once applied ,irrespective of PD availability ,both 2005 and 2007 cases move farward with fingerprinting & fbi name check, and then further If PD is current, YES its possible to grant GC to a 2007 file too.

What is the significance of starting this thread when there is another earlier, exactly similar, substantive and longer discussion going elsewhere ?

This is way it is going to be processed

I-485 Processing would start depending on RD (Receipt Date). But at the time of approval PD should be current and if it is current then the applicant whose RD (Receipt Date) is oldest would get the approval first.
