Default Visitor Visa

Guys:
My mother-in-law has 10 year Visitor Visa which is valid till 2013 stamped on her passport.

Now if she plans to travel to the US, what is it that she needs. As I understand :

1. Buy a ticket and she should be all set.
2. Does she need to carry any docs for the Visa officer at her first port of entry in US..? Or she just says that she is visiting her daughter and would like to stay for 3-6 months.

She came here in 2003 and returned after 3 months.

Please let me know if there is anything that I am missing...!!!

Thanks

What if someone comes for a conference for a week but wants to stay for 2-3 months just to visit places and see the country.

Default She should carrys the following

1. Invitation letter from you/your wife clearly saying to visit you and your plans of showing places to her(This is a must)
2. Medical insurance proof. Some officers at Port of entry asks for this some may not
3. Return ticket with Valid date on it. Show this to officer so that he stamps In I94 for this date.(Normaly they give 2days extra)
4. Letter with your contact details

Default It depends on I94 issued

Suman SK.

Say if the person coming at POE tells officer he will stay here for 2 weeks on conference. There is a chance of getting I94 for 2weeks, based on return ticket,1 month max upto 3 months.

So if he/she gets for max 3 months then they can stay till 3 months and will have to leave before I94 expires.

Say if they give I94 for 2 weeks then you will have to apply for extension for the intended period of stay giving tourism as reason.
