I just want to thank all IV members (and immigrationportal members before IV) who have provided invaluable suggestions and help during this long, difficult, and sometimes depressing journey and I wish you all the best for those who are still in the process.
Chargability of Nepal and still nine years. GC wait is in light years literally. Light travels from our nearest star (Proxima Centauri) in 4.3 years. 4.3*2 = 8.6 years

I had more than 5 years to experience from the previous company which the current company used as a basis for EB2 and it was successful. There was no problem with my EB2 PERM.

yeah.. go figure.

Out of the 9 years, 4 was wasted by the previous company by not filing my labor and just promising to file every six months. Once I moved to 2nd company, that's when the GC process began but that's when retrogression hit for EB3 and I got no where with that until EB2 labor was approved.

It's been quite a ride for this GC, unfortunately. Could have been easier.

GCard_Dream,

CONGRATULATIONS!

Did you/ your attorney interfile after second EB2 I-140 approval? Or USCIS automatically looked at your EB2 I-140 and approved I-485 pending application which was originally filed with EB3 I-140.

thanks

Default Congrats!!!

Congratulations and Best Wishes! 9 Years is indeed a long time - I came to the US as a Student (in 2000) and it has been 3 years since my GC has been filed (Jul '06), and it already feels long.

But nine years is indeed a long time - must be a relief! Congratulations!!!

Perhaps State Govt is using the following logic for visa bulletins..

Country names with 5 letters only, the GC EB3 wait time depends on the first alphabet of the country name.

Nepal..N..Nine Years..
India...I...Infinite...

Just a tickle on a regular workday :-).

Yes that sort of wastage happens often. Typically one has to change to a company who is willing and therefore sometimes few years get wasted in the process. Only in few cases, someone starts GC from day 1.

Yes, my attorney did do the interfile after the 2nd 140 was approved. I talked to USCIS numerous time asking them the status of interfile and they kept on insisting that "Interfile" is essentially a myth and there is no so called linking of 140 to the pending I-485 has to happen. If you have multiple immigrant petition approved on your behalf, they are all under the same A# assigned to you. Whenever and IO opens your file, he is able to see all the immigrant petitions approved on your behalf and will use the which ever immigrant petition is more beneficial to the applicant (EB2 in my case).
