Default H1B transfer to old employer

I got my H1B with Employer A. I had my visa transfered to Employer B. I worked for Employer B for a few months and got laid off. Can I go back to Employer A without applying for H1B transfer if Employer A has not revoked my H1? Should I do any paper work at all or inform USCIS about the change in employer from B to A?
