RE: Noncompliant ex-spouse
I'm currently in the process of completing the I-129F K-1 VISA application. In section 14a - 14h, it asks whether or not I've filed for an alien fiance, his Alient ID (14a), and date of filing (14e).
Unfortunately, I do not know this information because my exhusband (with whom I once sponsored 1994-1998) took all records with him when we separated/divorced. It was a very ugly divorce because he was very abusive and he ended up going to jail. We divorced in Dec 1998. We have not spoken since then.
I three months ago, I attempted to nicely ask him for this information via Facebook, but he refused to give this information to me (Alien ID/date of filing). This is the ONLY information I need to complete this form. In May, I submitted the FOIA form and they rejected it 3.5 months later stating that I need his approval and signature regardless of being his sponsor!
So, my question is, what do I do in this situation? I don't want to leave that particular section blank and later find out it's rejected because I didn't fill out that information, in turn, wasting my $340!
Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!
