Default Processing time due to the current H-1B situation

My lawyer mailed I-140 a week ago, on 04/02/2007, with premium processing request. They say normally the email receipt comes back from USCIS in one or two days, but there hasn't been anything till now(04/09).

This perhaps is expectable because of the 2008 H1B madness and delay. Did anyone here recently submit I-140 or 485, and have you got any receipt/decision?

Thanks.

Most of the time you will get approval before your receipt notices in Premium processing. H1 situation has nothing to do with I140 because H1's are handled by VSC,CSC whereas I140 is handled by NSC,TSC

Default What about H1B transfer

All,

I am thinking to change my company. Do any of you know how much time it takes to get the receipt for H1B transfer.

you don't need a receipt to work with the new company. You can file and start working the next day.

It took me 15 days or so. I suggest this approach of starting work after you get your H1-b tansfer notice.

Although, you can start work immediately using the H1B transfer filing receipt because that shows the date of intent for transfer.

Default Update

I got the I-140 receipt: I-140 and 907 were mailed 04/02 to NSC, and the receipt date is 04/09.

Thanks radhagd for your reply. I had the impression that H1B premium processing is also handled at NSC which seems not the case.
