Default Title your threads appropriately and show courtesy

If you are going to start a new thread, then start a thread with appropriate title. What the hell does the title "I485" mean?

Why cant you title the thread with a short sentence that is either a statement or a question, but meaningful?

What's wrong with taking a little time, to frame a short sentence that can fit the limit of words in thread title , make it easy for others to search for information, and also, for your own good, draw more attention and more responses to the question that you have ?

If you ask your boss for a pay raise, do you say "Payraise"? Or do you create a sentence and say "I think I have added responsibilities and I would like to get a raise to match my title and responsibilities/role?".

I am tired to looking at thread titles showing up everywhere like "I485", Or "RFE", or "Help Please".

I agree this can be quite frustrating, even for occasional viewers like me, so I can only guess how IV administrators with busy workload must feel. But maybe we can try a little harder and avoid strong phrases, to keep the high spirit that permeates in this forum (despite all the doom-and-gloom of our collective GC fate). Being from Florida, I always go for a chilled beer when the heat gets to me - just a suggestion

Default beer?

stuck,

logiclife's personal antidote is a late night cab ride with a driver that can't understand a word he's saying.....leads to a lot of excitement and frivolity...believe me!

How about having a dedicated admin to scan new thread's names suggest/change titles and if needed reject opening of a new thread with a valid reason.

Basically opening of every new thread would be moderated. I know that may be a lot of load on present admins, so why not have a new one just for that.

today there is a flood of new threads, starting new thread for each question. 'EAD usability' and 'EAD received. what now?' threads are best examples, how members are not caring to look for appropriate thread before starting new one.

Default Dedicated admin?

Are you willing to take that responsibility 24x7, or at least 8 hrs/day?

Why can't a community of high-skilled, educated professionals police/moderate itself and display some empathy for those putting in hours of work daily to keep this effort going on a volunteer basis?

If everyone (believe that's 22,000 of us?) could contribute ~$100/year, that would be $2.2 mil, and we could certainly afford to get a full-time "new thread admin" at that point...

logiclife, you speak so correctly man..everyone things abt it, when we see absurd headings on thread names, but no one speaks abt it. Thanks a lot for highlighting this.
