If card is received, then without sending any paper, it works. Next cycle do the same.

niklshah,

If you want to follow your friend's advice you are welcome to do so.

But what dhundhun and I are trying to say here is e-file confirmation receipt is suggesting to follow the I-765 filing instructions.

I will let you guys know when I receive the FP notices as mentioned in the e-file confirmation receipt.

According to e-file confiration receipt, following things should happen,

1. Send the supporting docs required for I-765, I sent them the documents on the same day I filed my application online 07/02/2008.

2. USCIS will send Paper receipts (I-797) in the mail, In my case I received it on 07/11/2008 and my wife's receipt on 07/12/2008. This delay could be due to the July 4ht holiday weekend.

3. FP notices will be sent to applicants, I am still waiting for it. I filed my application on 07/02/2008. Anniversary of July 2007 VB fiasco.

I hope USCIS follows their own procedures and rules here. They already have my FP records into their database, dont know why they need again when one applies for renewal. It doesnt make sense to me, but again its USCIS and they keep changing their rules every now and then.

I only got 1 email till now (card production ordered ). My online status also shows that.I have not seen the other email.

Thanks

This is good in a sense that it is not mailed to you yet. There may be long Q of card production. Once card is ready, they send Card (Approval Notice) - status will change accordingly.

Default it is incorrect

I think this is incorrect...i got my EAD in 2007 right after 'Card production ordered'...we won't get two e-mails.

In the start of thread, I mentioned the sequence, which happened:
Hard LUD on May 19: Card production ordered on May 17th in 50 days
Hard LUD on May 21: Approval notice sent
May 24: Received EAD with 1 Yr. validity

Now USCIS is not always consistent. They might have skipped putting hard LUD "Approval notice sent". It is not only me others also got 2 mails. Also, in my case it was a gap of two days. The gap got extended to upto 2 weeks also.

Bottom line is to get card: whether comes without mail or one mail or two mails or even more mails. It is just sharing of information that up to two mails are seen, last mail had subject "Approval notice sent" and the gap between "Card production ordered" and "Approval notice sent" has been seen up to two weeks.

I think it is volume (so long Q) - and quality printing (all the coding inside the card). Perhaps, it can't be printed everywhere like company issued ID. I remember some time back GC card printing taking over month.

It has prints, to make sure that terrorists are not making fake. With Indian Passports, it happened recently (all Indian passports with serial numbers Z-000001 to Z-045925 recalled ).

Default e-filing documents

I am sending the following documents to USCIS as suggessted.

1. Copy of online receipt
2. copy of 485 receipt notice
3. copy of previous EAD front & back( if first time send passport copy first page or driver license)
4. First page of my passport which contains my pic

Do I need to send "Mailer from last EAD" and "I-94" copies too?

What I am not able to find is "Mailer from last EAD". Will it be ok if I send the other docs and not the mailer from last EAd?

Please respond.

I think #1, #2, #3 and "Mailer from last EAD - upper portion" is enough.

During FP they will take picture also.

First thank you much for this entire thread, Dhundhun, it has really helped me a lots.

I do not have the "Mailer from last EAD" - is it ok if I "do not" send the mailer?

Yes you should have no problems getting renewal. That doc is just to add to the application from your end not required by USCIS.

Default Do we need Previous EAD info too?

Hi Dhundhun, Thanks for the excellent post. I had 1 question inregard to renew ing my EAD, Is it compulsory to mention info about all my previous EAD like OPT?.or can I simply skip that and only enter info about my expiring EAD to keep things simple. The problem I am facing is that I just have my OPT EAD card with me but do not have any application receipt date or the service center that had been applied for my OPT.So do I just mention 1/05/03 ( the start date of my OPT EAD card). I am also not sure how to proceed with the above?

I would like to thank you in advance for your help and support!

ajaypr,

I belive if you are renewing the EAD based on the c(9) Adjustment aplicant classification, just give the details of your last EAD you received when you file I-485.

No need to give the details on OPT EAD.
