Sept 18th Rally:Need University Liaison Volunteers

Need University Liaison Volunteers

In order to motivate students to participate in Sept 18th, DC rally, we need volunteers who can contact leadership of various international student associations at universities in their region. The goal of the volunteers is two folds:
- Obtain the phone number and e-mail address of the leadership
a. You can contact Office of International students, they may have it.
b. This website has starter list http://www.garamchai.com/indassc.htm

- Solicit students to participate in the DC rally.
a.Send an e-mail with the information in the following thread
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=12740
b. Hold couple of conference calls to answers studentís question.

If you are interested or have any questions, please reach out to singhsa3 (Sanjeev Singh) - singhsa3 at yahoo.com.

This is critically important for the universities in the tri-state area. If you went to a school in that area, please come forward and volunteer to motivate students.

We have buses from all those states so the students won't even have to worry about renting a car.

Thanks Natraj. Hoboken, NJ is what about 4 hours or less to DC? It will be great if you can motivate some students to drive down or take the bus to DC.

I approached ISA at Auburn University

I approached the student president of ISA at Auburn University and told him that if there are 5 people ready to travel to DC for the rally, I will bear the rental expenses of the car. I also emphasized upon him the need for student presence at the rally because of their possible H1 problems in the near future.

Auburn being about 800 miles from DC is a long shot but still I am trying. I will keep you guys posted about student participation plans from Auburn University

Need to spread messages to non-IT, non-Indian students

Hello everyone,
I will contact a couple of associations in health care, social services and other related fields about the rally.
I am hoping to contact schools in the East Coast to participate in the rally.
I appreciate your taking initiative to reach students. Also there are more and more students in heath care (medical, mental health) fields who will be equally affected by the broken US immigration system.

Can someone post e-mail addresses of people who are willing to be the contact people for students to ask specific questions such as arrangements for the bus, accommodations, etc?

Thanks.
