View Full Version : To know about franchise law

I am running a franchise restaurant in the US. My native place is in Toronto. Due to some health issues, I need to go back to Canada. In this situation, how can I terminate the agreement with the franchiser without losing the initial franchise fees? I read some details regarding this here Getting Out Of A Franchise Agreement: Termination And Damages For Breach | Law Works (http://www.lawworks.ca/franchise-law-blog/ending-the-franchise-relationship/getting-out-of-a-franchise-agreement-termination-and-damages-for-breach/). But I don't know whether there is any difference in Canadian and US franchise law. Can somebody provide me a solution for this?

It looks like a decent article. Did you contact any lawyers? Obviously there will be difference between Canada and US Laws, but there will similarities as well. I think a lawyer can give you a better response for this problem.
