I found this great youtube video that explains how lobbying works. We have a lot of evidence to believe that The Chamber of Commerce and its lobbyists are involved in the killing of I-140 EAD Rule. And sometimes else we don't realize is that in addition to fearing of losing valuable engineers, employers can also worry about its foreign employees starting new companies to compete with them with the knowledge and skills that they have learned. I think it is important to expose the opinions on some of the largest tech companies in the US. Do Google, Facebook, Microsoft support I-140 EAD? I have emailed the San Francisco FWD.us chapter chairman Andrew to ask if FWD.us supports I-140 EAD and haven't heard back.

When it comes to lobbying, big employers have the deep pockets to pay lobbyists to influence DHS. Foreign workers like us do not have the same type of resources under our belt. But we can try our best to expose the collusion between DHS and employer community and expose all the behind-the-door meetings and demand the minutes of those meetings that watered down this rule. After all, we are tax-payers and they are using our tax dollars to enslave us and we don't have a say in the decision making process of DHS. This is not fair by any means!

Really? What evidence are you talking about?

Did you read IV's official posting?

I am not saying I have more evidence than IV knows, but it is pretty obvious there were forces that pushed DHS to water down this rule. I just feel a lot of us are a bit naive to believe tweets, comments will make any difference. If they are actually gonna make a difference, there would not be jobs for lobbyists who make millions and millions of dollars a year.

So you are saying that in the end, these comments would do nothing and only money can make us win the battle ?

I am not saying that either. I just feel besides pouring in comments, we need to make our voices heard in other ways too. If there is unfair lobbying by employer interest group to block I-140 EAD, then we should expose that too.

I already sent in a few comments that opposes the rule in its current form and demands more relief. I think my intention of this video is that fighting for our freedom is a hard battle and we need to know our opponent's strategy in order to let justice reign.
