View Full Version : I-140 Approved - Benefits of keeping it alive with previous employer

I have an approved I-140 (EB2) from Employer A (large company). Planning to move to a move to a startup now (2.5 years into my first H1). I heard it would be useful if Employer A does not revoke their I-140 since it could be used to file H1 extensions after 6 years of H1. Even though the startup is willing to start the GC process, I was wondering whether it would be useful to request Company A to not withdraw the approved I-140. Also if they do withdraw it later sometime, is there a way to find out whether that the application has been revoked.

Also, any luck/experience on convincing your previous employer to retain the I-140 and not revoke it? What worked and what didn't?
