Hi All,

I have an approved I-140, but employer is not ready to share the document as well as the receipt number to me. I heard by applying G-639 form (Freedon Of Information Act), USCIS could provide that information.

Can you point me to some link, where i can get some more information?
Can i apply it on my own, or i need the attorney help to file that?

Thank You

Thanks for providing this helpful information.
I have I-140 approval but my employed did not share the approval notice with me.
I was trying to fill g-639 form. Can you please help in answering these queries?

Section 2

1) Which option should I select - Complete A-File or Others. (For I140, Perm approval notice which option applies?)

2) Petition / Claim Receipt # - What should be provided here?

3) Is it advisable to provide family member details? They have no link to what I am requesting.

Section 3

1) What should be the appropriate Option to select ? All of my Records or A portion of my records

Appreciate if you could help. Thanks

Hi All,

In my case I got confirmation that my I-140 got approved in July 2013. I had requested the receipt or copy and my employer is not willing to share the document.

I want to move to another employer and also want to retain the priority date. I read in other posts that we need to wait till 6 months after the I-140 got approved or else if the employer revokes the I-140, we cant have the priority date. Please let me know if this is true.

I requested my employer to provide the I-140 and they are saying that they will revoke the I-140 if I move to another employer.

As of now I have only the perm labor case number, can I use that to retain the old priority date. Please guide me on this query
