I have MS in computer science degree from US currently on F1 extended OPT(17 month)expiring on June 24,2014.

Current employer is a non-profit organization which can file CAP-EXEMPT H1b visa any time of the year.
I am trying to switch to a Profitable company This company can file my H1b next year i.e. April 2014 only.

With the current trend of H1b applications for 2014. Is it good idea to switch to a profitable company rather than staying with the current non-profit organization which can file H1b anytime of the year in 2014?

I am fearing that if I switch, even the masters quota will get filled quickly next year and the lottery system may kick in. In which case I will have to leave US and go back. What is your opinion for my H1b case where a candidate has Masterís Degree from US?

So my question should switch or not ?

asshri281987- if you can apply for your h1 this season with the for-profit company try it right away. If you dont get it, then you can apply with the non-profit later, and then again try next year with for-profit while being on job with the non-profit.

In other words non-profit for now until you get your for-profit h1 visa.
