Doesn't look both sides are agreeing on the bill. Its doubtful that it will go anywhere.

Whoever is against this bill are mostly due to removal of Diversity lottery visa, but everybody agrees to provide visas to STEM people.

STEM bill needed 290 votes in favor for 2/3rd majority. There are already 146 votes against STEM so the bill fails.

Most of the Democrats Voted against the Bill. They want the DV lottery to stay so that they can bring in more of their people.

Like I always say, Democratic party on the whole is hostile to skiled immigration.
This bill take DV lottery quota (mainly non-skilled) and gives to skilled.
Bound to fail. Democrats love the loyal "47%" where most of the DV people belong to.

I find this reporter biased if you look at his past articles. He seems to be a restrictionist.
