I mailed Advance parole in november, its been almost a month , still have not received the Renewed Advance Parole. Why is there such a delay even for renewing this document at USCIS. Its so frustrating I will need to travel to India in January and current AP is expiring in February. How long does it take to get just RENEW THIS ADVANCE PAROLE at Texas center. Not even a first time processing. Members please clarify :mad:

Check the processing times at the service center. TSC's processing time for AP showed 3 months and mine took exactly 3 months to get it renewed. My AP was expiring on 16th December 2011 and I traveled back to US on 13th December 2011 as I did not receive my renewed AP on time. Hope this helps.

I applied mine on Nov 19th. It is still in "Initial Review status". When I renewed it last year, they took even beyond 3 months and the reason given to me was my previous parole didn't expire then. My current parole expired on Nov 22. So, I waited for the expiration date to get closer to send it for this year renewal. But still no difference. What I said about the expiration date may sound weird and that is exactly how I felt when the second level rep told me last year. So, this completely screws up my travel plan every single year. So, my understanding is not only they take more than 3 months to renew the parole but they also don't renew it until the previous parole expired.

Hi,

My last renewal took more than 3 months, can anyone share how much time is it taking for renewing EAD/AP these days?

I e-filed AP myself and it took 1 1/2 months. My old AP expired more than 3 months ago.

I think the delay is not from USCIS, but at some contractors who is doing the actual printing and shipping of the AP document.

Our AP was approved by the end of October 2011, but we actually got the papers in mail by end of Dec and beginning of Jan. 2 months to just print the damn thing and mail it!

The processing time is 80 to 100 days and this is going on for the past 1 year. This is not a surprise to most of us and me too.

My RD for AP was 14 NOV 2011 at TSC.
Approved on 28 DEC 2011 & received mailed document last week.

Took around 45 days for Advance Parole Approval.

Received by TSC Sep 26, 2011. No updates or progress even though it's been 3 1/2 months now. Called the service center since we need it by next week or our driver licenses expire... They said we would hear back in 15 days...

So anyone who has paper filled it in November or December got their AP card.

I filled in December, for new AP not renewal and received notice, when do you I should be getting the card. I need to travel to Indian soon to see someone ill. Can I go to the senator with the receipt notice, will they help it to expedite?

Anyone with experience taking senators help and getting the card sooner.

I'm not sure your situation is extremely urgent but if it is then you can try to get an infopass

Emergency Advance Parole Documents
If you are experiencing an extremely urgent situation, you may visit your local office to request an emergency advance parole document. When visiting a local office to request emergency advance parole, you should bring the following items:

A completed and signed Form I-131, Application for Travel Document
The correct I-131 filing fee
Evidence to support the emergency request (e.g. medical documentation, death certificate)
Two passport-style photos.

Well, its urgent but not super urgent. So I was hoping if I can avoid the whole medical document and info pass, and go through the senator, but don't know if the senators office helps only after it has been more than 90 days.

Just received an email notification today (Sunday) that it was approved on Friday. Hopefully will mean only one week without driver's license. Not sure what worked, but expedite request, senator, congressman, and infopass were all part of our efforts to get this before the license expired last week. Almost 4 months...

So did you contact your senator? Which service center did you send your case to?

First opened service request by calling the 1800# a week after the 3 month processing timeframe. Then contacted senator the following week, and faxed and email TSC (where our 485 is pending), and then the following week, contacted our congressman.

Again, not sure what worked, but that's behind us now.

So did you contact your senator? Which service center did you send your case to?

It has been 3 and a half months. Still initial review. They are making mockery of "Initial review" process by not doing anything. 5 minute job in approx 5 months. We are sure paying for some past sins and they are sure enjoying for the good jobs that they did in their past life.

bsbawa10,

You are in a better position than me. My AP was applied exactly 3 months ago and the case doesn't even show up online. We have the receipt from USCIS and nothing after that.

ours was at NSC. When it was pending over 105 days, we called the 1-800 customer service number and requested an "Expedite Service Request" for reasons of financial hardship and health reasons of family back home. We recd. email to send proof of pre-purchased restrictive tickets and reasons for expediting. On sending those, thankfully, applications got approved quickly. Hope this helps others in similar situation.

The following questins do come to my mind.

Why should it take 105 days wait to do it at the first place ?
Why after 105 days also, we should be calling to request Expedite service and send proofs of our reason to get it "soon" (after 105 days).
Why should the person, who just sat and did nothing for all 105 days for a 5 minute job not be asked for explaination and or fired ?

Me and My wife applied for AP renewal through e-filing around 1st week of May. By May 14th we got the receipt notices. By June 10th we got our AP approval notices with 1 year validity in hand. We lost the 2 months as our old AP's were about to expire last week of July.
But that seems to be fine looking at your AP renewals delaying by more than 3 months.

while i agree your questions (which were mine too) appear completely justified ...but unfortunately we know for a fact this process is anything but perfect.. or transparent.

We can only be grateful that now we at least have a voice that gets heard and would help us solve the root cause of such ridiculous yearly problems. All we can do is be supportive in the correct sense and calmly focus on resolving the problem at hand.. with a approach that might prove very effective.... good luck
