From what I read in other forums, it should be smooth sailing in Senate. It seems any immigration bill has a smooth sailing in Senate

HR 3012 - Prospects in Senate? is in the hands of each one of us reading this post. It all depends on the kind of support we can get from each and every immigrant stuck in the process. Failure is not an option and success needs to be 100%. It is time for less discussion and more work. Please show your support by contributing to the next round of funding so that we no longer have to work with shoestrng budgets and can push this with full force.

"Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., who heads the Senate Judiciary panel on immigration, said he planned to move the bill as quickly as possible in the Senate, "where we expect it to find overwhelming support." He said the legislation would "remove outdated constraints that prevent us from attracting the kind of innovators who can create job growth in America."

It depends on Senate Judiciary committee leadership, especially immigration panel chairman Senator Schumer and judiciary committee chairman Senator leahy. If there is enough support and they want to pursue it, they can just take H.R.3012 and pass it or they can push S.1857 and add amendments.

Telugu Associations in US are very rich, they spend thousands of thousands in bringing actors/actresses to US, they also donate a lot to politicians , if anybody can lobby them for this cause it would be gr8, but one thing .... most of them own consulting firms who may be against this bill .

If contacting Senators is an IV action item then I would start calling now.

Just contributed $100 . Recept # 0410-8726-1312-9218

Time to take action to have H.R.3012 become law.
1) Contribute to IV for exceelent job. If H.R.3012 become law ( which is now in sight) we would be saving thousands of

dollars spent otherwise each year for EAD, AP, H1 Extension etc:
This is only chance to get GC before retirement.

2) Contact Senators to support and expedite H.R.3012 on Senate floor.

3) Spread wors to friends by emails, facebook, Twitter.

Below is link for senate Judicial comitee members:

In these things there is no fixed price. Its all about how much you can invest to get political capital. Other organizations invest millions and still not get anything. But if we can match them, we can certainly lobby each and every Senate office rather than just some key offices with shoe strong budgets. There is also a lot more we can do in terms or organizing advocacy. So we need to now think beyond just $25, 50, 100 by a couple of hundred people we all have been doing till now. Even tiny lawyers that are only filling our forms in English that we can also do charge more than $300. So this is far more than just filling a form in English. This is a crunch time and we should be thinking in thousands each. That is what I think we we are really interested in success of this bill. There should not be any excuse if this fail. We should go in confident that we gave our best.

DO not call anyone.

Follow action items by the book.

Any wrong step will be detrimental to the bill. Do not do your own action items. Please visit IV everyday to check for updates and action items.

They say, you have to die to go to heaven
Nobody else can die for you to have you go to heaven.

It is people who are suffering and are desperate for the bill that need to make sacrifices and make the effort. These kinds of organizations are one too many and they have their own agenda. They do not care if you and I get a green card or not get a grencard. They only care that we should be buying their tickets when they call film stars.

So let us all believe in ourselves first. We have come so far by believing in ourselves. We al have made a lot of personal sacrifices. Suffered a lot in our lives and career. It is time to end that suffering.

Once this bill is passed it will be implemented in 3 -year phased manner?
Can anyone (who knows) tell me what does it mean? Does it mean it will be implemented 3 years after it became law?

Phased manner just means 15% reserved for ROW in first year, 10% in second year and 5% in 3rd year, which ensures ROW gets atleast some GCs their way in the first 3 years. Else, because of current backlog, it would have meant ROW does not get any atleast in the first 2 years.

I liked the way the bill is thought about to include something for everyone including ROWers.
ROWers wont like losing a privilege they had (which is visible in other forums) but there is still something to them in this bill. Most of the noise I see is coming from EB3-ROW.

Other than making GC process fair for indians and chinese, I think this bill will unite all the GC seekers once ROWers forget about the short term pain.

GCTorture - please wait for guidance from the Immigration Voice Core Team.

It is very important that we do not call on our own and at random times. It is essential that we wait until the time is correct, and then call.

When it is time to call, the IV core team will provide all the details we need. They will provide links to phone numbers, emails etc.

This is an exciting time, and is natural to become impatient. This is however a time we need to show restraint and work together.

The Core Team has navigated IV thus far - please rest assured that they are continuing to fight for our cause and will let us know when we need to call senators and voice our opinion.

Meanwhile, please contribute funds to the effort. That is the most valuable thing we can all do at this point.
