I applied for renewal of my EAD in January , they did not asked any letter , even when applied for AP later in April. No RFE's at all.

That's a rumor. Please see section 7 of I-765 instructions (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-765instr.pdf) document ... assuming of course, the eligibility criteria is filing I-485.

A properly filed & pending 485 qualifies you to EAD by itself. So the only evidence needed is the 485 receipt notice.

EB2 and EB3 are the real cash cows for USCIS..thanks for July'07 the number of milking cow has gone up drastically...those who have still 1-3 years left on H1B and just happened to file for PERM, 140 and 485 during July 07 are now applying for EAD and AP renewal which is close to 2500$ for a family of 3 [ 2 EAD, and 3 AP]....

I will be filing for my third EAD and AP though have not used either of them in the previous 2 occasions...Just to be safe and keep renewing it. :p

EB3 - 2007 March PD...means I will be doing it for next 15 years.....:D

Dear Fellow Indians....

Do not get disheartned by the June'09 news...

within next 6 months everything will be current ..and I can bet on this.....reason being USCIS will need another 200K application for EAD and AP [140 and 485 application]....

Come 2010..everything will be current and again their will be a huge queue for filing 140, 485, FP, renewal...this is one of the best ways to make money without being responsibile for any action....take fees send receipt notice and keep the file next to the dustbin....

You do not have to have a job to apply for EAD or extention of EAD. Plus, EAD is your own application and has nothing to do with your employer. Hence, no letter should be needed.
