View Full Version : visa interview questions

I had a question about visitor visas. My parents were planning to come to the US this summer(2009) and so booked a visa interview date for Feb. But now they are going to postpone their trip by a year and come in the summer of 2010 instead. Is it advisable for them to continue with their Feb visa interview date? I guess it wouldn't be a problem if they get a 10 year multiple entry visa but what if they get a 3 month or a 6 month visa?

Also they are thinking of telling this during the interview (that their original trip was going to be in 2009 but now they are going to postpone it to 2010).They are going to do this so that the visa officer can give them a visa which would cover their 2010 trip. How advisable would that be? I am asking because from my F1-interview times,I have been taught to view the visa interview proces as a slightly arbitrary one and so I feel that the simpler the story, the better it is for everyone. :)
thoughts? advices would be most appreciated
thanks in advance
