when its your day!

when you receive that magic email,
when you go green,
the day you stop feeling like an alien,
Don't forget your brothers who are still waiting,
Don't forget the brothers who shared your pain,
don't forget IV, your alma mater

If you are a July filer.
You I-485 wasn't returned because IV helped make sure USCIS acknowledges it.
If there was something IV did that made your life easier.

The day you get your green card,
You are gonna celebrate,
call your family,
Take your wife/kids/"frens" out for dinner,
Get drunk off your ass,

help your peeps out who are still waiting.

On this day give a gift of $500 to IV.

When its your happy day... do a lil something for your friends.

Look at a it this way... aren't you dying to see the day when you get a chance to donate this $500 to IV.

Report your success on this thread, donate $500.
possibly we could have a t-shirt that reads :
"Survivor - Immigration star - I earned it"

(still under finalization.. IV leadership anyone.. please help)

This t-shirt will be the memento of your epic struggle , your unassailable patience and singular devotion to achieve what truly belongs to you.

Think about how awesome would it feel to look at this years later.

and yes .. nothing rhymes...so what?

I got my GC in May. The big donation wasn't what I did but my continuing monthly contributions will add up to more than that.

The last thing my wife and I have to do as strange aliens is for my wife to reenter since she left for Poland the day before the cards arrived.

As for t-shirts, I like the idea of custom ones listing the number of days you waited for each stage. Something similar to the plaque that I carried at the rally :-)

Hats of to you my friend ... for all the contributions.

I dig the idea of custom ones. They would totally rock :D
