Hello everyone from SF Bay Area,

Please check out
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16806

I have obtained the permission to conduct a letters campaign at Fremont BART station on all weekday evenings beginning next week.

If you live on the East Bay and haven't written your letters, this is your chance!
You can:
1) write & sign your letters on your own, then just drop them off to the volunteers at BART station
2) simply sign your letters at the BART station- we will keep the letters ready for you!

Come on folks, you just need to show up there on one weekday evening in a span of 2 weeks!
Could we make this easier for you?

Please also spread the word among all your friends who take BART from the east bay. If you are closer to another BART station you are welcome to conduct a similar drive there. You need to take permission before you do.
Go here:
http://www.bart.gov/docs/FE_Permit_Application.pdf

BART is used by hundreds of immigrants everyday, we gotta exploit this opportunity!
Thanks!

Come on folks, volunteering and support is the need of the hour - silence is not the solution

Hello Nor. Cal,

If we don't get going, I am afraid that we will not be able to achieve our objective, your objective.

A few motivated people can only go so far. It is unfair to think that your time is more precious than any other volunteer's time. You just might be surprised to learn from us how busy we ourselves are.

Please stand up for your rights. Don't take this campaign for granted.

Volunteers all over the country are helping this effort outside of a local train station in SF Bay area, and members who live within 2 miles of the train station don't even read their mails!

Thanks Janislal and Kicca.
Together, we will make the admin fixes HAPPEN!

should be an easy task for folks who live in the east bay to show up at the Fremont station and pass handouts.

If you cannot do this much, then it is .....

BTW janislal I will be wearing the IV T shirt that carries the slogan of the linux community:)

People who cannot volunteer, at least drop off your own signed letters... or just come & sign them, we will give you a pen and a letter ready to be signed!

I am happy to inform all of you in NORCAL that the permit to conduct a signature/letter campaign at Fremont BART is with us!!!

NOTE: This cannot be used by another member at another station-- this is a non-transferrable permit SOLELY for the campaign at Fremont at the said times, but you can request a similar permit for any BART station!

Now, I need at least ONE other member to be there on a weekday evening of your choice (I am planning to go there EVERY weekday evening for 2 weeks) and help me conduct this campaign!

PLEASE.... this is the last call.. don't let us down!

I collected 7 letters yesterday by simply talking to people walking in & out of a grocery store. I wanted to see how it will be at the BART station and I am very encouraged by the response received yesterday. Most people (including GC holders and citizens) provided their names and addresses and signatures without hesitation.

The reasons for only 7 letters (could have collected 15):
1. I was on my own after all. When I was talking to someone a bunch of 3 walked out of the store and I could not do anything.
2. Heavy rains which prevented people from getting out in general.

My only worry now... if you guys in and around Fremont continue to look the other way, ignoring this call to your precious 1 hour on any ONE weekday evening, I might get only 200 letters... when you and I together could easily get 1000+ over 2 weeks!
