My wife and I live in different cities due to our jobs. I live in San Jose and she lives in Dallas. On her 485, I gave her address same as that of mine, which is San Jose. The FP ASC's are thus listed as San Jose.
Can she give the FP in Dallas. What should she tell the ASC, if they asked her why she is giving her FP in Dallas, when her address is in San Jose.

Thanks

yes she can do finger printing in dallas itself. even she can do it before the schedule date. we moved from Iowa to NH and wo got FP notices to Iowa. but we went in NH USCIS office 3 days before the actual schedule date and done our finger printing. they did not asked me any thing and while i am explaining they said it is ok and fine. try 4 or 5 days before the actual schedule date at dallas. if by any chance they dont accept then you can go to the actual location. BEST OF LUCK.

Gurus,

In our case, the FP notice for the primary applicant was received by the attorney as well as us, while the notice for derivative applicant (spouse) was only received by the attorney.

We understand that the original notice needs to be presented during FP. USCIS, as well as our attorney has been giving us contracdicting information. While one says carry a photocopy of the attorney's notice along with I-485 receipt and passport if you do not have the original notice during FP, while the other says, re-schedule the appointment (we believe, res-scheduling the appointment also requires the original receipt ?).

Do not know what is the right thing to do here. Please advice.

Thanks,

call USCIS and they will clarify you.

We called USCIS and they said carry a photocopy but the attorney says re-schedule the appointment.

Has anyone been in a situation like this earlier ? If yes, please advice on the best approach.

Thanks,

Thank you, I will try to ask her to check in Dallas. In the FP forms that they give, she will still write the San Jose address ... can she do that, since her driving license shows Dallas address.

Driving License address does not matter. I had a non-Texas DL when I went for my FP in Fort worth. Just tell them to use the San Jose address while filling the forms.

I am curious as to why you want to show San Jose address when she intends to live in Dallas.

I had my FP scheduled in NJ, I went to Fortworth ASC centre 3 days before the scheduled date with attorney's original FP notice and did the FP. I didn't say a word about the change of location. They didn't ask either. ;) Make sure you go at the same time as in FP notice.

Thanks, Currently she is living in Dallas, but she might shift to San Jose, which is where I live. The lawyer recommened using a single address for filing. She said that it could be a problem if they see different addresses on the forms ...might be, they will question intentions of marriage.
Do you guys think it will be a problem?

Me and my wife live in 2 different cities..My attorney recommended to put the same address which is my wife address on our I-485s but to put the real addresses(our each own address) on the biometric forms I-325s..
Anybody in the same situation?
