I own a house and have been paying mortgage for the last 2.5 years. My Greencard is in process and I am currently on Adjustment of Status. I will be out of the country for more than 1 year and doing so, my Greencard application will be abandoned. I will not be having any immigration status in the US. Is it even possible to own a house without any immigration status?

your owning a house is not linked to GC in any way, positive or negative.

Your being out of country for 1 yr+ will not abandone your GC if you have a valid H1/L1 visa. Alternately, you can change it for consular processing (if your employer cooperates)
