Volunteers needed to hand out fliers at a Diwali Event at Hartford,CT on Nov 11th, 2007

IV is pleased to announced that India Association of Greater Hartford has agreed to let IV talk to their guests during the Diwali Celebration program they have arranged here in Connecticut. They will allow us to distribute flyers in venue and their president / vice president may announce relavant details from the stage too
(subject to us informing them - our most important message in short
few lines ).

This will give us a direct visibility with the Indian community and though many during the celebration programs are already citizen or green card holders, everyone has someone who is going through the same issues as we are facing. We have presented us a non-profit organization, as a voice for all Immigration Issues and a Lobbying front.

Background: India Association of Greater Hartford is one of the most influential, cash flushed and active association, established in and around greater Hartford area. They are the only one in USA to arrange a flag hosting from the Hartford Civic center as a part of our Independance Day celebration and have direct access on a regular basis to various law makers and beaurocrats in the governent machinary. For the Diwali celebration they are expecting about 800 to 1000 people to participate (based on their past experience).

Jaimini had done all the work so far and due to some personal emergency reasons he will not be able to continue with this work.We are looking for CT members around Hartford area who can help use distribute these fliers. He did also mention that , anyone familiar with Gujarati culture can develop a faster rapport.

Comeone folks All we need you to do is hand out fliers. Please step up .If you're interested please email please post in this thread and we will follow up with you.

Thanks

Wonderful idea for the state chapters. The tristate, texas, dc/md/va, washington, north and south california chapters are involved in such activiities -- members from these states, please reach out to your chapter leaders and actively take part in it.

You are right, the initial post was 2007. Our problems are not yet solved, state chapters are considering such activities - why not encourage members to join?
