Hi,
Since there are 800k AOS cases pending, it would be helpful if the USCIS can work with more transparency. Instead of just having 2 statuses like case received, case approved etc. if they can have more like the following, they can avoid hundreds of custsvc calls and use those resources in actual processing of these cases. Is it hard for AILA or IV to take this to the leaders and get it implemented quickly? This way we can know if our case is sitting with the FBI or USCIS and will help us decide if we have to stay here or migrate to some other country and try our luck there.

New status:
Fingerprints received, Submitted to FBI for security check, Security check cleared, Waiting to be assigned to an officer, Assigned to an officer, Adjudicated and Waiting for a visa number, RFE issued, RFE Response received, Denied. etc.

Thanks.

Yes. There should be a workflow and there should be status defined at each step. This will make everyone clear in mind & know what to expect next.

But with this USCIS nothing will happen. I will be happy if they do not mess up my application with un-necessary RFE. This is what I hope for.

Can we ask IV leaders if something can be done about this throgh their lobbying firm or other contacts?

a) Please start getting involved with your local state chapters.
b) Pass suggestions to your chapter leader who will convey to the IV core.

In majority of the cases, the IV core already knows your suggestion, but they are very welcome to suggestions. :)

This will also expose their inefficiencies and I do not think they will share this information. Only a high level meeting and legislative change can impose them to share these details.
